The
exceptional geographic, cultural and ecological diversity of this unique
country makes it an ideal location for a program like AAI. Bolivia is one
of the last unspoiled countries of the Americas. Bolivian culture combines
elements from diverse sources: the indigenous Quechua and Aymara cultures,
along with Spanish influences.
Bolivia presents a varied geography, with the Andean highlands dominating the south-western half of the country, with the north-eastern half of the country occupying the Amazon basin. With approximately 55% of the country comprised of Amazonian lowlands, Bolivia has the largest percentage area of Amazonian habitat of any South American country.
